Dr. Shaibani is a very smart man,who definitely knows his stuff. His problem is that heīs an arrogant "bastard" who preaches how wonderful the British are, and how crappy the Americans are, and to top it off, he might be British, but his background is DEFINITELY NOT. He ran through the material superfast, like the smart man he is. Yet, for those that did not undertand, good luck. He offered a lot of easy extra credit, like, what does M.G. stand for, and things like that. Well, I donīt know if that extra credit counted for anything, since I dropped the class. I could not stand his arrogance. Iīm sorry, but I cannot learn, and go to class and watch a professor thatīs insulting his students, making stupid jokes, and who believes heīs the shit. Yeah, heīs the shit when it comes to physics, for everything else, heīs a piece of it. Take him if you want, but he doesnīt curve much. Heīs a brilliant man, but needs to learn how to explain the material.

Dr. Shaibani knew his stuff, but that doesnīt do any good if he canīt communicate it. He made it clear that he hated America. Not one day went by that he didnīt make a crack on the U.S. and how jolly ole England is so much better. We had to derive all of the equations for the homework, quizzes, and tests. The homework was nearly impossible, and the tests were completely impossible. An average of 30%-40% on the tests for the entire class should tell you something. He makes the class very difficult, and I feel as if I didnīt learn a thing. Try to stay awray from this guy.

Shaibani is from England. He lets you know this every day by pointing out another thing he doesnīt like about America. He is very intelligent and has a number of degrees from Oxford. On the topic of Oxford, he discusses it frequently with high regard. He makes extra credit assignments about the Oxford crest, etc. He complains about the book every time he references it. He has a very dry sense of humor that can seem hilarious or bitterly sarcastic. However this dry humor is the only thing that keeps his lectures from being incredibly boring. Reading and doing other homework are popular in class and Robeson 210 is very accomodating to sleep.
On the plus side, the t-score he grades on lets you pass tests with a 20%. You do not have to try to pass this class (or get a C for that matter) but you have to work your butt off for a B or an A.
P.S. I skipped every class after the first test and improved my grade by a letter and a half.

There is nothing else to say but that Shaibani sucks. After taking his class I have learned that England is Godīs gift to man (personally i think it is the arm pit of Europe, but what do i know, iīm an American). Shaibani is a friggin genius, never question him, but he sucks as a teacher. No one learns anything in the class, he just confuses us. I skipped over a month of class and more than doubled my test average. He doesnīt care about his students no matter how many times he tells us he does. He prides himself on the fact that no one has ever, here or at the other schools that he taught at, scored above a 90 on his test (the highest on our final this semester was a 75). Thank you Tech for not having the money to bring him back next year, now if you can just get a couple half way decent teachers to put in physics... for the most part they all suck so far.

Shaibani is a true patriot of England, who despises the rest of the world, yet for some reason stays in America to teach as he calls it "middle school physics everywhere else in the world but undergrad studies in the US."
Besides his sarcastic and degrading comments to the students he is a great teacher. He is perhaps the most knowledgeable of all the teachers that I have had and will take the time to explain the material to you in lecture and office hours. That is of course if you dont mind listening to his degrading comments of your intellectual ability when you ask questions.

Allright, Shabani is full of himself, he thinks he is Einstien/Newton/"insert another physics guy here" all in one. Umm ... as for the class, the entire physics department is full of Mr. Rogers. You heard it ... NAPTIME! Now as for Shabani, he will keep you semi-awake cause he complains and does odd things.
You probably should take his class just to see what he does next!
"As for the physics, Iīm just gonna write down what I know." Shabani is gonna make you derive everything, which is how you answer quiz questions. Homework questions are answered with the help of the back of the book, and any other means possible. As for the test, guess.
As for him not getting paid enough, well if heīd show up to my class then heīd probably get compensated better. (I had him at 3:30 in the afternoon and he skipped town 3 times and I consequently failed those three quizes cause I got no derivations)
He is defiantly too smart for his own good, or at least he acts like it. I think he is in the wrong profession, but maybe he likes to teach. What else can you do with a PhD in physics? Anyways, I wrote down what I knew, now you do the algebra.

Worst professor Iīve ever had. His test averages were usually around 30%. Iīd really like to see how well someone could do just picking answers out of hat, probably not much different. This guy is awfully full of himself, if thereīs one class period that goes by without having to hear him talk about how heīs so wonderful, thank your lucky stars. I didnīt learn jack in this class, and I donīt know anyone with a favorable opinion of him. I recommend ANYONE ELSE.

Where do I start with this looney. He thinks England is Godīs gift to the earth. If everyone in England was like him, I think we would have joined Hitler in WWII and destroyed England. This guy spends half the class talking about how much the book sucks or how America sucks or something stupid like that, then he complains about how we donīt have enough class time. The only reason I bother to show up to class is to get on the attendance because he makes attendance like 10% of the class grade. To top it all off, heīs nowhere near the university on Mon, Wed, or Fri. Another annoying thing of his is the way he says the greek symbols. He says theta as "theatr" and beta as "betr". He also compains about the pay that he gets from the university, but if heīs so smart then why doesnīt he just go teach at a high paying university? Avoid Shaibani at all costs.

Shaibani is the evil spawn of satan! At first I loved him, he was funny and I thought that I was going to learn so much, but then he started making fun of students (to their faces in front of a whole class) telling us we should "being selling used cars for a living" or "shoot yourself in the head and be done with it". He threw chalk at a kid one time who was just trying to explain his answer to a question...and shaibani wonders why we donīt answer questions now! He thinks England is sooo great (i used to think England was great....I still do but heīs not helping their image) and he is constantly telling us how horrible the US is and how unlucky we are to have to live here...I wish he would go back to england! He says that attitude is everything, but heīs such a jerk that you canīt help but hate his class and him so attitude just doesnīt happen. Heīs such a hypocrite, every day I dislike him more... I could go on for days about him, but in conclusion- DO NOT TAKE SHAIBANI NO MATTER WHAT

All he bitches about is how Virginia Tech screwed him over and heīs not getting enough money. Another thing, heīs only here on Tuesdays and Thursdays, heīs no where near this place Mon., Wed., and Fridays, cause heīs off at yet another job (one of his two OTHER jobs heīs got). He insults the students, and this country, if he doesnīt like this country then why the hell is he here!? I havenīt figured that out yet. Oh well...he just needs to actually teach the class, if not, he shouldnīt be here, the physics department sucks in the long run anyways
