Compared to everyone else reviewing her saying she was excellent, I would really just rate her "good" for MATH1206. She knows her Calc, but goes VERY fast through the material for 1206. (in her defense she only had an hour each class to cover a lot of material) If you have not taken Calc before, I would recommend her with one reservation: She is sort of disrespectful to people who come to her office hours. If you need a lot of help in this class, you will get it, but it won't be too pleasant. I went ~3-4 times and each time she yelled at someone, and seemed very annoyed like you were wasting her time or she was too busy to help.

She is a wonderful teacher. Her class is my favorite of the semester. It's always full because people know that she makes Multivariable Calculus understandable. She's funny and easy going.

I like her teaching style and how she makes it easy to speak with her. She puts all her notes online and reviews and answers to homework problems (which she doesn't take for a grade). She clearly knows what she's doing. All in all, she's been a pleasure to sit under.

Dr. Agud is one of the best if not the best Professor I have had here at Virginia Tech. She loves teaching and loves her students. She knows her material and does a very good job of teaching it. If you do not understand something she will go over it again in class or you can go to her office hours. Her office hours are very helpful.

She is very fair at grading and most of the questions on her tests are either from one of her quizzes or the homework. The homework is not required, but highly recommended doing all the homework if you want an A in the class.

She posts note outlines on her website which she fills in as she teaches. This is one of the best ideas for notes I have ever seen and makes note taking easy.

This class is not a cake walk, but if you come to class, take good notes, do well on the take home quizzes and study for the tests you will do well in her class.

She was a fairly good teacher. She kind of reminded me of my mother at times in terms of her mannerisms and her moodiness. She was always willing to help me and get me that understanding, but she definitely made me work to get a decent grade, again like my mother.

All in all, if you didnt have calculus before, she isnt the way to go. If you had calc before, shes a good dana teacher to have. She is funny and if you get on her good side, she'll hook you up.

Mrs. Agud was a very good Calc teacher. This was my third Calculus class, and Mrs. Agud was definitely the best teacher I've had. Although her class moves at a VERY fast pace (watch out those of you who haven't had calc before) she is very knowledgeable and happily answers questions. 1206 had daily homework and weekly take-home quizes. It was a little work intensive, but no more so than any other math course. Mrs. Agud grades quite fairly. I highly recommend this class as opposed to the computer-tested offering of 1206 because Mrs. Agud does award partial credit on her tests and gives bonuses. Also, instead of having only 16 multiple choice questions on the final, you also get 8 free response questions and a few bonuses. (this is a realy grade-booster if you know your stuff!) I highly recommend Mrs. Agud for students who are willing to go to class every time and do the homework. If you do this, and ask plenty of questions, you should easily be able to make an A or B in this class.

She is the best teacher that I have had at Tech so far. She is fair, responsible, and very intelligent. The great thing about this class is that you will learn the material very well; you definitely have to work for it though. No matter what 1205 Calculus class you are in you will have to take the same exam (common time exam). If you do the homework in her class and understand it then the common time exam isn't bad at all. You can definitely get an A you just have to work for it. I think she might even be teacher of the year for the lower level maths, so shes got some crudentials.

Be prepared to teach yourself. Although she does have print out notes, it just makes her go through the material faster. You'll have more homework then the other classes and way less time to do it all. Don't bother with Prof Agud...

She was a good instructor and seemed to know what she was doing.

So if you have a choice, she is a good option.

She is a great teacher, hard but very good. Outlines for class notes are available online which makes it very easy to follow along to processes during the lecture instead of focusing on just keeping up. Out of all the teachers, she had the highest average on all of tests by a couple percentage points. Because her averages are always higher than other teachers, there is never a curve on the tests because they are not needed. The only downside to mrs. agud is that she is very picky in her grading, and expects everything to be written correctly. you get used to it and it greater prepares you for further math classes
