Rate VT Teachers has returned! We'd like to apologize to the Virginia Tech community for having the site down for such an extended time. We realize that many of you have come to depend on the services this site provides.
Our web host went out of business in January 2005, taking the site with it. We ran into some technical setbacks, and a lack of free time, but we're finally back up for the long term with a reliable host we can trust.
If you've forgotten your password, please visit the forgotten password page to get it back. We should have all existing users on file.
Since the site has been down for a while, there will be many new teachers that need to be added. If you can't find the teacher you need, you can request that we add him or her at this page. Please also report any faculty who you know are no longer teaching.
Look forward to a site-wide redesign, new features, message boards, and more coming sometime soon.

We have had trouble with our ability to send email, including validation messages to new users as well as sending forgotten passwords. This has now been fixed. You can now sign up for an account and will be emailed the validation message. If you had forgotten a password, the password retrieval page can now send it.

It's been a while since we've had any updates. There are a number of new things to mention:
- Evaluations are now visible immediately after being posted. We will still be patrolling them and editing/deleting ones that fail to meet our standards. You can also help us in this effort. Every evaluation has a link next to it that you can use to report objectionable content. Please use this to report any evaluations that you feel are not in the spirit of the other evaluations here at Rate VT Teachers. Please do not just report evaluations that you disagree with.
- Instead of emailing us teachers to add (which unfortunately has not been working too well lately) there is now a form to fill out to request new teachers. This will streamline the addition process.
If you know of teachers we need, and we know there are many, please request them here.
- You can report problems with teachers with a similar link next to their names. If you know they have left VT, or are listed in the wrong department, misspelled, etc. then please report it to us.
- We are aware that for the last two semesters there was no option to choose Spring 2004 or Fall 2003 for your evaluations. This has been corrected. If you feel so inclined, you can view the teachers you evaluated and update this field. We apologize for the mistake.
- Sadly, the Find Teacher Wizard was removed. Until we can rework it to be more useful it will stay removed.
- Since we are solely advertising supported, you will notice the addition of ads in some parts of the site. Please realize this is how we can afford to make these services available to you.
- Finally, these new updates may come with some bugs. If you get any errors or have any trouble with the site, please contact us describing what you were doing and what happened. Thanks!

Made major modifications to the web site to make it run faster and handle the strain of so many evaluations.
Under the 10 Best and 10 Worst Teacher lists, there are now links to view the 50 Best and 50 Worst Teachers. The requirements for these lists have changed, so the rankings are slightly different. A teacher must have 6 or more reviews to qualify for either list.
The department list now accurately counts how many teachers and evaluations there are per department.

Added 70 requested teachers. Also completed the ACIS, AOE, AAE, APS, and NEID departments. Responded to all remaining user requests. Now will begin adding teachers department by department.
